I had the honour of photographing the wedding of Maddie and Dan, and I was with them from the excitement of the bridal preparations in the morning, right through to the first dance and the evening celebrations.

The Holiday Inn Southend is such a versatile wedding venue. One of my favourite features is the stunning staircase upstairs, with its large windows that let in so much natural light. It’s the perfect spot for wedding photos, creating beautifully bright and airy images that really suit a modern style. Maddie and Dan made great use of this space, and it gave us the chance to capture some really elegant portraits that I know they’ll treasure.

The whole day was filled with laughter, love, and those little moments that make weddings so unique. Maddie looked absolutely stunning, and Dan couldn’t stop smiling all day – you could see just how happy they were to be surrounded by their closest family and friends. From the ceremony itself through to the drinks reception, everyone was in such good spirits, which always makes my job even more enjoyable.

One detail that really stood out was the colour scheme Maddie and Dan had chosen. It worked beautifully with the light interiors of the venue and really made the photos pop. I always love seeing how each couple puts their own stamp on the day, and this wedding was no exception.

As the evening rolled in, the atmosphere was fantastic – plenty of laughter, dancing, and a great party vibe. Their first dance was a wonderful moment, full of emotion, and it was followed by a packed dance floor as guests joined them to celebrate into the night.
